The Role

A motivated and visionary marketer is needed to join the Business For Good team as our Director of Digital Marketing and Social Media. A key player in our expanding team, they will play a key role as we reimagine community brands and businesses as a seed for change and equity.

The Director of Digital Marketing & Social Media will be responsible for project management on all of Business for Good’s digital campaigns and oversight of the day-to-day management of social media. Tracking digital presence for BFG and defining new levels of success for web and social media engagement are key components to the open position.

The ideal candidate will have the skills to create, curate and manage all website and social media content, blogs, SMS, audio, visual and multimedia formats. We want someone who can take digital content and bring it to life, driving a strong brand relationship with end users, and generating site traffic, likes and attention.

The role reports directly to the Chief Brand Officer. This is an exciting role with high potential for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop overall digital marketing strategy for BFG and our portfolio of companies, while setting KPIs that measure, expand and continue growth
  • Manage the online brands of all our businesses across websites, social media platforms, mobile platforms, influencer programs, marketing emails, blogs, digital ads and more
  • Oversee internal team of content creators, ensuring digital marketing campaigns and organizational objectives are met, and all digital assets are tracked efficiently
  • Serve as digital point person for external agencies, trafficking workflow and ensuring proper BFG assets are put to best use
  • Allocate and adjust media spend, managing the company’s digital marketing budget and identifying cost savings to the business
  • Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and ensure brand consistency on all social media platforms
  • Supervise all aspects of digital interaction, fielding emails to website and social media inquiries and comments in a time-sensitive and tone-appropriate manner
  • Website management and maintenance on the backend using CMS
  • Provide reporting and analysis on all digital activity, including web traffic, unique visitors, and all social media interactions
  • Create actionable plans to increase followers and engagement on social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Lead and manage SEO/SEM, digital display advertising and email marketing
  • Keep abreast of the latest digital trends and continued advancements in digital technologies and marketing best practices
  • Research and adopt emerging technologies, digital innovations, and new platforms and systems to optimize organizational productivity and effectiveness
  • Create and manage set of best practices for e-commerce across BFG’s portfolio of businesses and products
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in a digital marketing role with oversight of corporate social media accounts
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience with external agencies and internal team members
  • Experience and success managing SEO, SEM and digital advertising
  • Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms, niche audiences and maximizing branding and marketing efforts
  • Experience utilizing Google Analytics and other performance measurement tools
  • Strong writing skills including corporate communications, consumer/audience content, thought-leadership blog posts, video content, presentations, and messaging for media/analyst engagements
  • Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of front-end web development, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript development, is a plus

The Role
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for effectively executing the marketing strategy for Business for Good and our portfolio of businesses and initiatives, focusing on opportunities for growth. The qualified candidate will work cross-functionally, serving as a key brand ambassador internally and externally, driving excitement across all marketing platforms, expertly managing the varying nuances across a multitude of audiences, industries, and cultures, and turning followers into fans. Ensure that all marketing operations are consistent and efficient.

The Marketing Manager has extensive knowledge and experience in brand strategy, marketing planning and execution, project management, story and campaign development, data measurement and analysis, and cross-platform media.

The role reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications, with a dotted line to the Chief Brand Officer, and will be a key player of our expanding team. This is an exciting role with high potential for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing strategy from ideation through execution for Business for Good and its family of brands and businesses across a variety of industries (retail, dining/food, destinations, real estate, entertainment, agriculture, law, lifestyle, pets, and more)
  • Analyze and track performance marketing performance metrics
  • Manage and oversee the marketing budget (tracking, invoices, estimates, payments, etc.)
  • Day-to-day project management, including extensive calendar of campaigns and events, planning for the short and long-term success
  • Audit, manage and optimize marketing mix and budget to advance project/program ROI and overall strategic direction
  • Develop and leverage an in-depth understanding of our portfolio of businesses, brands and partners to glean and develop data-driven insights and strategies
  • Manage the consistent and on-brand look, tone and feel of all our brands
  • Ideate and develop exciting and compelling brand stories across all marketing platforms and mediums — including BFG key social causes: food insecurity, housing instability and education inequity — to drive engagement and drive fandom
  • Develop community activations and events, driving support for BFG-supported charities, fundraising, advocacy and awareness campaigns, and impact giving initiatives
  • Help shape social media storytelling and ensure seamless integration with BFG’s overarching marketing strategies; working knowledge/familiarity of platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, and others
  • Create and maintain BFG’s marketing playbook consisting of best practices, processes, account management guidelines, and FAQs, for internal use and external partners
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams and partners
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s degree a plus)
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Both brand (in-house) and agency experience a plus
  • Deep experience in brand management, marketing strategy and data measurement and analysis
  • Experience providing a sound and strategic POV and collaborating across all levels and functions of an organization
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
